We are here for you if you have been impacted by suicide. Here at Pete's Dragons, we have a passion for making sure that those bereaved by suicide in Devon and North Somerset, have access to timely and appropriate support.

Story

As a child, each summer we'd head down to Launceston to stay with my Nan for our big summer holiday. We'd go to the beach at Trebarwith Strand, build sandcastles and go surfing, eat lots of pasties, and of course see Uncle Bob, Aunty Doreen, Anthony and Andrew.

More recently (but still quite a while ago now), Rachel and I would head down each year to run with Bob and Tony in the Launceston Half Marathon and 6 mile races put on by Bob's local running club the Launceston Lancers. On a couple of occasions, Tony and Bob got a place in the London Marathon, so they'd come down to London to stay with Mum, and we'd all go up on the day to cheer them on.

In the last few years I've gone down with my own family for holidays in Cornwall, and of course visited Bob, Doreen and family while we were there.

The charity that meant the most to Bob was Pete's Dragons, set up following the death of his grandson Pete Wicks who took his own life, to support others who have suffered loss through suicide. So I'm running the marathon in memory of my Uncle, and to raise money for a worthy cause that was very close to his heart.
