I have had type 1 diabetes almost all my life and over the last 20 or so years have seen massive leaps in both treatment and support which are almost entirely down to the work of Diabetes UK and the professionals they support.

Many people think diabetes is a self inflicted condition which it isn't

Many also think it is a limiting condition which it doesn't have to be.

Hopefully you can follow me and see how diabetes fits in around my life and help raise some vital cash for Diabetes UK.

I have been riding bikes for years but due to a variety of excuses (work, family, diabetes) have drifted out of it a bit of late. I hope to get back on it in 2015 and as part of this really need to be on top of my diabetes.

I will be updating my page as often as possible to document my improvements hopefully on 2 wheels but more importantly my Diabetes control as both need some work!

Hopefully this will help to show people diabetes can be part of an active lifestyle and raise some money to help Diabetes UK continue to support those of us who are affected and reduce the numbers who may be in the future.
