Fundraising for Will Houghton Foundation
Story
This year I will be partaking in the inaugural WillVember… A thing I invented after a few beers in memory of Will Houghton.
Will was a funny, clever, loving, inquisitive and motivated young man with a love of family, the outdoors, sea and cycling. He died in a road accident while on a training ride near his university in Portsmouth. The Will Houghton Foundation was created in his honour.
Since that tragic day in 2016, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I could help raise funds for the WHF… I’m not the greatest cyclist in the world, unless it’s a 90’s BMX with stuntpegs, so that rules me out of most WHF events… However, I’ve decided to think more about Will as the bloody good bloke he was. Which is why I’ve decided to #BeMoreWill for a month in the first ever WillVember. If #BeMoreWill was everyone’s mantra, I believe the world would be a better, healthier, funnier and more cleverer place!
So what is WillVember I hear you ask? It’s simple really. I will be doing the following throughout November;
• Cycle to and from the station every day. Stunt pegs optional.
• Read a newspaper every day.
• Visit family members as much as humanly possible!
• Watch 30 minutes of trash TV every night. Made in Chelsea, Towie, you know, the really bad stuff.
• Go boating!
• Be clean shaven every day.
• Start driving lessons. He was always mocking my lack of Driving Licence… And rightly so.
• Eat more Avocados!

The WillVember closing party will be held at The Book of Mormon, Will’s favourite thing in the world. A glass or two will be raised.
