SOS Africa is a UK based grassroots child sponsorship organisation which invests 100% of your donation in the education and care of African children. Since 2003 we have provided disadvantaged children with holistic education programmes tailored to their needs to help them break the poverty cycle.

Story

Hi there,

My name is Christian Fisk and a couple of years ago I travelled through Africa where I saw many township children.

I won't ramble on and tell you how hard kids in Africa have it because all of you will already know. But from my experience of meeting these kids and talking to them, I believe they deserve a better life.

This is because they are so happy yet they have almost nothing. They will play a football match with a burst ball and still make it look fun. They will be obsessed with books which are in languages they can't read. They will light up when they see your face because you are different (quote, from a large group of pointing kids: Mzungu! Mzungu! MZUNGU!!!). They will find so much joy in the smallest things around them.

I believe these children deserve better lives because their happiness could be so much more, if only they have what we had when we were kids.

So I have decided I am going to run the 13 miles of Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for SOS Africa, a N.P.O which is truly dedicated to helping children across Africa.

I know many people do more hardcore stuff than this to raise money but all I am asking for is £250. which is less than a pound each as I have invited over 500 people to this cause. Thanks
