I am proud to have been selected to participate as an Homeopathic Intern for the Fall 2015 Mission to Honduras by HTSF. This event highlights my decision to dedicate myself to the service of others in helping people achieve optimal health, and contributes greatly to my education and experience, especially the context of front-line homeopathic intervention. This experience will broaden my horizons as a Homeopath and I am excited and humbled that this how I will start my new career. 

WHY THIS CHARITY

‘HTSF’ stands for 'Homéopathes de Terre sans Frontières' or “Homeopaths of a World Without Borders”, and is a branch of ‘Terre Sans Frontières’’ a Quebec charitable organization, which supports the poorest populations of the developing world.

HTSF has been working in Honduras for about 15 years. Before then, healthcare was largely unavailable and simple medical solutions to many common health problems were not accessible. For example, Chagas disease, affecting almost 80% of the Honduran population (and most of Latin America) for which no effective traditional medical treatment exists, homeopathic intervention has proved successful.

Essentially, we bring healthcare solutions and training for sustainable services to this population, and we hope to continue this important work! Some patients travel 4 hours to get the clinic willing to wait all day to be seen by one of our Homeopaths.

WHERE YOUR DONATIONS GO

The majority of the of funds goes towards purchasing homeopathic remedies and medical supplies necessary to safely dispense care to people in need of healthcare. A portion of contributions goes towards sustaining the clinic in Honduras year-round, where two Honduran staff members are employed to maintain a continuity of care. Extra donations will help to send other Homeopaths on the mission which means we can provide much needed healthcare to more people during the mission.

I am personally covering my own costs for travel to Honduras equalling $1100 CAD.

Should donations exceed the target amount, these donations will help future missions and may even allow another Homeopath to join this specific mission, which means we can treat more people while we are in Honduras.
