Story
Who’s up for a challenge?
I’m always looking for ways to keep my fitness group motivated and active outside their sessions, so January 1st I set them the task of walking/running/cycling/swimming the distance from Land’s End to John O’ Groats, 874miles, so far they have done brilliantly and have completed over a third of the distance!
Everyday they give me their miles, it doesn’t matter whether it’s half a mile or ten, the main thing is they are supporting themselves and each other to stay active during the most recent lockdown.
Anyway, as their instructor they always say I tell the odd fib ‘you’re nearly there’, ‘one more round’ etc 😂 this most recent fib is the worst one yet, as they have been unknowingly working towards something bigger, and I want to invite as many of you to join us in this challenge...
We want to aim to reach as close to 50,000 miles as we can by spring 2021, that’s the 20th March.
During the first lockdown Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire Blood Bikes covered around 50,000 miles delivering urgently needed blood, breast milk, medical records, and equipment, they didn’t stop.
They selflessly give their time, around the clock, all year round, they operate an urgent volunteer service providing transportation of blood products, free of charge, to all NHS hospitals across Shropshire, Staffordshire, and Cheshire

We need as many people joining the challenge as possible, you can walk, jog, run, cycle, swim 🥶, or if you are isolating, a smart phone or watch will track your movements, it’s amazing how many you can reach marching/jogging on the spot. You can be anywhere in the world to join us, the more the merrier!
Donations are very welcome, but we know it’s also a challenging time financially for many, so please just join us to get active, and help us spread the word, raising further awareness of this vital Blood Biking Service.
There’s an option to purchase trainer tags to keep you motivated, along with a medal when we complete the challenge at the end 🏅profits, of course going to Shropshire, Stafford and Cheshire Blood Bikes.

I’ll be setting up a Facebook group that anyone can join to take part. We’ll be collecting your miles everyday and will keep you updated every week as to the progress made.
