The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

I have somehow been coerced into doing Wild UK, a 100 mile journey across the wilderness that is Devon and Cornwall, with four of my colleagues. By foot, bike and canoe our team will compete against far more physically fit and competent athletes to raise money for The Prince’s Trust. We all work there and see firsthand the difference that the charity genuinely makes to the lives of so many young people whose confidence has been broken by constant barriers to employment, training and education. We’re all passionate about helping to change these people’s lives for the better; that’s why we’re raising money and that’s why we work there. Don’t think this is a jolly; I’ve looked at the map and there are some seriously big hills. This is going to be tough, so please dig deep and give whatever you can.

And if that’s not enough to convince you, then I’ve also stupidly signed up to the Windsor and Royal Parks half marathons, which it turns out are less than seven days apart from each other. September should be painful!
