Story
As I sit safely in my house comfortably watching the tv with my family, watching amazing people like Captain Tom Moore’s (age 99) walk 100 laps of his garden, and Margaret Payne (age 90) climb Highland Mountain on the her stairs of her house.
On Instagram I came across Reverend Alan Mair who recently ran 5800 laps of his garden, which measured 28 meters with a 30cm of ascent. His total distance consisted of 100.93 miles and 1740 meters of ascent.
A swimming Coach I know, Dave Tonge is currently swimming (live on Twitter) 21 miles in just 12.5hrs in his endless pool trying his best to set an example and raise much needed funds for the NHS. I can only imagine there is many more examples. Which is why I can’t help but think, why aren’t I doing anything?!
As a Coach I have a number of friends and clients that work within the NHS. Currently giving their very best to help keep us & our families safe, whilst putting themselves in harms way! My partner is a Midwifery Student and has also been working to help her colleagues during these hard times. So I think it’s only fair that I do what I can & give my very best for them...
A while ago I had an idea of running a set distance everyday for a month, to help develop my fitness & build a sense of discipline. Out of curiosity I then Googled to see what the world records were for this, to which I found this...
The most half marathons completed in one month (male) is 18 and was achieved by JC Santa Teresa (USA) in Ocala, Florida, USA, from 7 December 2017 to 3 January 2018.
The Guinness World Records don’t know about this attempt and therefore it’ll be an “unofficial attempt”. However, this has nothing to do with breaking records and has everything to do with helping those who currently need it most! Please help me do that by donating as much as you can afford too and sharing this via your social media accounts.
I’ll be starting and completing this during the month of May 2020.
