EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

I have managed to get a last minute place in this years London marathon after a fellow runner had to pull out due to injury.

I am running to raise money for Headway which is a charity for people suffering from head injuries. You may not be aware but I had major brain surgery in 2012 after fracturing my skull playing five a side. OK not major surgery but I was looked after very well for five nights in derriford. I still have no sence of smell but I don't know if there is a charity for that? I was in a ward with several people who were not as well off as me and who were looking at a longer recovery time. It is for these people through Headway I hope to help.
