Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

In September 2016 my wife Fleur Wiliams was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer called Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia - Its is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

This is not a curable cancer but a treatable cancer.

WMUK - Are the UK's only charity focusing on support for patients, carers, doctors and nurses involved in the treatment of Waldenström's Macroglobulinemia (WM).

WMUK is a unique not for profit organisation, also a registered charity, developed jointly to bring WM patients and medical professionals closer together to improve the treatment of WM.

Here's a little information about myself and what the TREK involves.

I'm 46 and I have never attempted anything like this before and never left the UK on my own !!

1 - Landing in one of the most dangerous airports

2 - Cross a 623 ft chain suspension bridge

3 - Walk 89 miles(return) at high altitude from Lukla to Everest Base Camp to lukla at a starting of altitude of 9383 ft to 17500 ft and back down.

The danger level for altitude sickness is 8000ft or above if not acclimatised correctly.

The majority of my 5 months training will be in the Brecon Beacons national park. Numerous climbs to Penyfan will be completed with various weights carried.

Please support me if you able too.

Fleur and I are funding this entire trek. All money donated will go to WMUK. No money raised through this page or sponsorship forms will be used to fund any part of the trip or the necessary equipment/clothing.
