Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When I heard about Sense International I was struck by the work it did, helping some of the most marginalised people and their families cope with multisensory disabilities, especially deafblindness. Those affected require special means to be able to learn and communicate and often are faced with additional social (e.g. social stigma) and medical difficulties (e.g. other physical and learning disabilities).
Whereas Sense UK works to support the deafblind in the UK, Sense International looks to help those affected in some of the poorest communities in the world and currently runs projects in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, India, Bangladesh, Romania and Peru.
You can find out more about their work here and look out for some additional updates to my fundraising page:

Here is an idea of how your donations can be put to use:
£15 could help pay for sensory toys to help deafblind children explore the world.
£25 could help pay for the education of a deafblind child in India for one week.
£75 could help pay the travel costs of a community worker for a year.
£100 could help to employ a specialist teacher for one month.
£1000 could help set up a training programme for parents and teachers in East Africa.
Many thanks for reading and for supporting Sense International
