Why I'm raising money for Brain Tumour Research...
On the 19th of August 2009 my friend's beautiful little boy, Taylan, passed away at the age of 7. He had been diagnosed with a very rare and inoperable brain tumour in October 2008.
Taylan's parents, Andy and Figen, have founded Taylan's Project www.taylansproject.com and are now fundraising for www.braintumourresearch.org to raise awareness and much needed funds. In the UK more children and people under the age of 40 die of a brain tumour than any other cancer however research into brain tumours receives less than 1% of the national spend on cancer research.
Taylan and I used to race each other around the green and planned that one day we would run the London Marathon together. Sadly that dream will never be realised. This year I'm running the marathon in memory of Taylan and to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research.
Taylan was an amazing little boy who I will never forget. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Every penny really does count.
