Cheltenham Half Marathon 2020 · 20 September 2020 ·
There are over 100 different types of blood cancer and my sister, Kate, and I have known too many people affected by these horrible conditions. Blood Cancer UK funds research into treatment protocols, like the one that Sebby is currently on, and they have been fantastic in supporting people throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic. The charity works to find cures, improve diagnosis and develop kinder treatments, as well as supporting people after diagnosis.
Earlier this year, Kate and I decided (over a bottle of wine) to run the 2020 Cheltenham Half Marathon, for Blood Cancer UK, and I was also due to do the Great North Run the previous weekend. Life has changed a bit since then...
Although both events have been postponed, Kate and I are determined to still run our own “virtual races” and raise as much money as we can.
On 13th September I’ll be doing my own version of the Great North Run, and on 20th September Kate and I will both be running our own “Cheltenham Half”. Whether it’s on a treadmill, in the garden, along a road, we are determined to put in the miles and raise lots for this brilliant charity.
As you can imagine, trying to train for these events is proving even trickier than in “normal times” and any donations would be so greatly appreciated by us both.
Thank you!
Kate and Claire xx
