UPDATE
I’ve decided I really want to actually complete an event to:
1. Show you all how grateful I am for your generous donations
2. Continue to raise awareness of this super important charity!
So, I have decided to go ahead with this April’s Royal Parks Half Marathon! With Covid-19 still leaving us all so unsure as so what 2021 will bring, I hope that a half marathon will be more likely to go ahead than perhaps the full marathon would have.
I’m hoping I can raise at least another couple of hundred pounds ❤️
Thanks, Claire
There are just so many reasons I wanted to take this challenge on, not least to raise money, but also awareness of a such a fantastic and important charity.
Dicky and I never take for granted the luck we were dealt last December when our Matilda suffered her first seizure ,which resulted in her needing to be resuscitated, just one floor below a level 1 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. After admission to the unit, days of tests, further need to resuscitate and medication to keep seizures at bay we were discharged. We left hospital with our beautiful baby girl.
However, on 30th October 2019 at 8.10pm our friends Chris & Katie had the unimaginable happen when their beautiful daughter Bonnie was born asleep, weighing 5lb. They had to do every parents worst nightmare and leave hospital without their daughter.
I want to run this marathon in Bonnie's memory, raising money and awareness of the utter heartbreak stillborn and neonatal death brings upon parents like Chris & Katie.
So please give generously to this amazing charity, their goals are so important. They need funding to continue to not only offer essential FREE support to grieving parents and training to midwives, doctors and other professionals, but to carry out vital research to reduce the number of babies dying in the UK.
Thank you, Claire x x
