Pedal for Scotland 2015 · 6 September 2015 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On 6th September my rather short legs will be pedaling from Glasgow to Edinburgh in aid of the Alzheimer's Society (just in case you missed the bit at the top of the page, that's 47 miles folks!).

This is not my first time fundraising for Alzheimer's, it's a cause very close to my heart. Pete and I have both seen family members go through this illness and we know that the patients and their families, carers and medical staff need all the support they can get. It is, however, my first serious bike ride. Now I have the bug, I hope it's the first of many. Just so you know, I blame Leila.

I've been training since April  so a lot of time and effort has already gone into preparing for this event. By contrast, donating via JustGiving is a piece of cake.

Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
