Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page and taking the time to read about our exciting challenge. In July we will be delivering treatment and education to villagers in Ghana and students in Accra. The focus of our visit is to educate the local people, including patients and Healthcare workers, about common conditions affecting the lower limb such as diabetes. Another aspect of our visit is to explore Buruli ulcers, a common pathology seen in countries like Ghana which are usually undiagnosed due to insufficient knowledge of the disease among both Healthcare workers and the general public. We are hoping to explore some realistic treatment strategies and preventive measures to reduce the risk of long term functional disabilities. We are both passionate teachers and practitioners and are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and experiences with the local people in Ghana. It is an exciting challenge which we feel has the foundations to grow into a long term successful project.
