Story

Having recently (and in mid-life) discovered cycling again I decided to set myself a  post-pandemic challenge and this seemed the perfect thing: a good cause, cycling with life-long friends and all in a country (Holland) I love.  What's not to like?

Importantly the passing of a good friend, Margaret Wood,  in May 2021 and the recurrence of breast cancer for another close friend (and also a fellow Sunday cycling-buddy of mine) has heightened my sense of wanting to do something positive.  Their fortitude and grace inspires me to help  and these charities to support many, many women like them.  How could I not want to try to make a difference?

I am looking forward to: getting fitter, making new friends and heading off on my bike.  It will be a huge challenge and something that I never thought I would attempt.  The only things between me and the finish line now are: improving my technique on my bike; training hard; and successful fundraising in the  Covid-19 era...….
