Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My lovely mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in December 2013. MND is a progressive disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal chord, leading to weakness & wasting. As the disease progresses every single day is a struggle for my mum. She has always been a very active, sociable and busy person. She is now in a wheelchair, unable to drive and simple everyday tasks leave her feeling exhausted. MND affects her speech, if she talks for too long she loses her voice completely. Her body is failing but her mind is unaffected. Despite all that she has to endure, she rarely complains and tries to stay positive and enjoy the time she has left. For her family and friends, it's heart breaking to see the devastating effect MND has on a person. That's why I am determined to complete the Survival of the Fittest challenge and raise funds to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
I would be so grateful if you could donate. This is the first fitness challenge I've done and I'm looking forward to it. My training schedule consists of 3 x 6.15am fit camp sessions, plus evening training too. I'm a bit scared of some of the obstacles on the course (especially the Manchester canal which we have to swim across ewww!), but I'm determined to complete it. Thank you for your support.
