My chosen charity for my birthday is Evie’s Gift. 

Many of you know that I lost my Dad to a brain tumour. This year will be the 30th year since he was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. Evie was also diagnosed with a glioblastoma and was 13 years old when she died. 

I spent an anxious night in hospital with Isobel some years ago (the “5p incident”) and we got to come home the next day - that was traumatic enough. I met a Mum while I was there, her little boy was an inpatient and he had a brain tumour. For those parents that have little ones diagnosed with brain tumours, I feel especially connected. 

Evie's Gift has two main aims: to give immediate financial assistance to parents whose children have been admitted to hospital with a life threatening or life limiting condition, and to fund research into the rare brain cancer that took Evie from her parents too soon.
