10K by May is an awareness and fundraising campaign. With this campaign we aim to raise awareness of the impact of domestic abuse on women and their children, as well as raise funds to help us continue to do the vital work we do.

Story

Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women in Northern Ireland, and recent records show that incidents have increased in the past year. Covid-19 lockdowns have been difficult for everyone, however for those being subjected to abuse by their partner, being trapped at home has been far from safe.Belfast and Lisburn Women's Aid have remained open throughout all lockdowns, supporting women and children despite the ongoing pandemic. We are supporting their mission to raise awareness and funds by joining their community of supporters and taking on the #10KbyMay challenge. As well as the above goals, BLWA also aim to encourage people get or stay active during lockdown, and promote a healthy, happy lifestyle within the local community. We hope you'll consider sponsoring us!!
