Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am a member of staff at Whiston Hospital and have worked for this Outstanding hospital for 10 years. Climbing Kilimanjaro is the biggest challenge that I would like to achieve on my personal bucket list and I’m going to do it for our patients this Christmas. I will be 52 in December, so I thought it’s now or never. I’m no athlete and suffer from asthma. That means the 8 day trek in temperatures from +27 to below -15 is going to be really tough.
Kilimanjaro is almost 6,000 metres high, and we have up to 600 patients that could be spending Christmas in our hospitals. I have decided to become Santa’s Little Helper and make sure that they aren’t patients that Santa 🎅 Claus forgot about. It costs £5 per patient to buy a present - so if I could raise £3,000 that would mean they could all receive a gift 🎁 on Christmas Day. Every metre I climb is worth 50p to our patients...... so if you can spare a few pounds, this will go a long way to brighten the lives of our patients this Christmas.
I am personally funding this trip, so this is at no cost to the Trust, or the NHS. All proceeds of fundraising going directly to buy patients a Christmas present.
