We’re more determined than ever to make sure new generations, especially young people from disadvantaged groups, can discover the power of DofE.

Story

The 2.6 Challenge is aiming to help charities that are struggling right now, with many fundraising events being cancelled during the coronavirus pandemic. The idea is that participants choose a challenge, any challenge at all, related to 2.6 or 26 (the number of miles in a marathon, plus the date the event would have taken place), and then ask friends and family to sponsor them to try to make up some of the money lost through so many fundraising events not going ahead.

I am immensely proud and privileged to work for UK Youth Charity The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.  The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is the world's leading youth achievement award, with over 438000 young people currently doing their DofE in the UK.

As an Ironman Triathlete I thought a physical challenge might not be appropriate but I would love to use lockdown to reignite a passion for sketching and drawing I have neglected for over 20years and spread a little joy by capturing some beautiful dogs and sharing the images on social media.  I am aiming to sketch 26 different dogs - I am lucky to have plenty of dogs in my own family to sketch but maybe you'd like me to sketch yours too?
