TRIBE Relay Across Scotland 2022 · 24 June 2022 to 25 June 2022 ·
Join us as we help the TRIBE Freedom Foundation fight modern slavery and end human trafficking by raising awareness, supporting survivors and working to prevent it.
In support of TRIBE’s inspiring mission, eight members of Nasdaq’s Legal Regulatory and Risk Group from Canada, Sweden, NYC, D.C., and Maryland will participate in a 24-hour, 135 mile/218 km relay race across Scotland in June. Each team member will run two legs for a total distance between 13 and 23 miles.
We hope to raise at least $50,000 for TRIBE.
Please consider donating to this great cause!
TRIBE Freedom Foundation was inspired by Run for Love; an epic 1,000 mile journey, completed by over 250 runners along the road from Odessa to Dubrovnik to fight human trafficking and raise funds to set up the first UK home for trafficked children.
Since Run for Love, TRIBE has continued to work towards its mission, inspiring thousands of everyday athletes and adventurers to push their own limits to help increase awareness of modern slavery and end human trafficking. It empowers communities to create an impact. www.tribefreedomfoundation.com
An estimated 40.3 million people are living in slavery globally. This means there are 5.4 victims of modern slavery for every 1,000 people in the world. There is no typical victim of slavery – victims are of all genders and all ages, ethnicities and nationalities.
Modern slavery is an umbrella term encompassing slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labor and human trafficking. Victims of modern slavery are unable to leave their situation of exploitation – controlled by threats, punishment, violence, coercion and deception. They are commodified for the purpose of exploitation and financial gain -- this criminal industry generates $150 billion in profits each year. Slavery violates human rights, denying people of their right to life, freedom and security.
