My gorgeous mom, best friend, confidante, inspiration and all round fantastic woman, was diagnosed with this devastating disease in 2012. The drastic transformation of such a capable and vital individual has broken all the hearts of those who love and cherish her. She is still at home and cared for by my father, and through this amazing support she is still able to share some moments of joy and communicate a small hint of what was, at one time, a rather cheeky sense of humour!
