Help me make a difference to children like Lucas. Read his message …..
My name is Lucas Johnston and I have just had my third birthday. When I was born my life hung in the balance for several awful months. I was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot which required two major corrective operations, including a heart bypass within the first six months of my life. My parents and me take it day by day, step by step but so far so good. I want you to help make a real difference to the lives of other little babies just like me. My parents have asked thirty friends to do the to Brighton Bike Ride on the 20th June 2010 to raise £85,000 for the Evelina Children’s Hospital in - the one that treated me. Whilst heart disease in children is on the increase every year, it can now be diagnosed and corrected in even the tiniest of babies. The Evelina is under a huge amount of pressure to save babies lives so therefore there is always a need for more cardiac intensive care equipment to make monitoring, surgery and aftercare possible. More specialised equipment, more intensive care beds, more kids like me have the opportunity for a full life. I can guarantee you that your help today will save more little lives in the future. I am living proof that it really is that simple. Please sponsor your chosen rider as generously as you can to help us meet our target of £85,000. I’m just a little chap appealing to you to help me help others and make a difference. Thank you, Lucas
