As you know my mum lost her fight with cancer on 3rd June this year. She was diagnosed last August but only found out in January that there was nothing they could do. She was extremely brave throughout and she never lost hope. However, one thing she found really hard to accept was that she would not be around to see her grandchildren grow up. Mum adored Teddy and Amelia and she had waited a long time to become a nanny. She had so many plans and things that she wanted to do with them but she was not given the time to do them.

Mum spent her last six days in St. Luke's Hospice. They provided the most amazing level of care for her and supported my dad and all of us so much. We would not have been able to look after mum at home as well as they did in the Hospice and the staff were wonderful. St. Luke's relies solely on charitable donations and the Hospice costs £3000 a day to run. It provides a vital service for cancer victims and their families during the most difficult times.

Each year the hospice organises a 5K Fun Run and this year the 3 of us are taking part in memory of my mum, along with other family members and some of mum's friends. We are going to be focusing more on the "Fun" than the "Run" and will be dressing up as Supergirl and Superman. I was hoping for a Superted outfit for Edward but could not find one. He will be doing his bit for his nanny but sitting comfortably in the ruck sack on Rob's back!
