So, I have taken the plunge and committed to do something I never thought I would — the London Marathon!
Years of watching the runners on the TV going "I wish I could do that but there's no way I could" I'm actually testing that theory. All because of the person who, basically, saved my legs.
My friend, Tori, who ran for Wessex Cancer Trust having just finished intensive and brutal cancer treatment herself, is my inspiration, full stop. She tried to fix my tight calves a couple of years ago and discovered I had chronic exertional compartment syndrome, for which I had surgery to correct. Had I continued to push through the pain, untold damage could have occurred and I've seen what it can do. So I have her to thank, and this is my way of thanking her. By running beside her next year, and paying it back.
If you'd just like to sponsor me, then thank you so much!
