Clare Pond (LeJog)

Lands End to John O'Groats · 14 May 2012
I am supporting this charity through the link with my uncle, Josh Gifford, who sadly passed away recently. He trained the race horse Aldaniti which Bob Champion rode against all odds, for horse & rider, to achieve the team's fairytale ending of winning the Grand National in 1981.
I'm also taking on the Bob Champion Cancer Trust LeJog cycle challenge as a little celebration of my recovery from a snapped ACL & reconstructive surgery just over 2 years ago.
Several close family friends have been touched by cancer & it is bravery that is required from all those connected to them in helping their recovery. Some have said 'Is it bravery, or madness to do this cycle challenge'. I think both, but I'll let you decide the ratios ;-) Eitherway, as Josh's parents would say to him, Uncle Macer and my mother, and as Josh and Mum would say & now as Mum and I say to each other at the end of phone calls....I'll 'Keep to the path'.
Please help to support these brave people by donating as much as you can to this GREAT charity. A HUGE THANK YOU.
IF we reach the £2+k mark, I'll encourage the cycle team to take a dunk in the chilly seas at John O'Groats!!!
Please remember to Gift Aid your donation.
