Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My lovely dad, Gerry, died on 25th August 2017 having lived with a diagnosis of advanced oseophageal cancer for 16 months. He suffered with heartburn for many years but had no idea that this can often be a precursor for the type of cancer he was then diagnosed with. By the time the tumour was identified the cancer had spread and a cure was never going to be possible.

Oseophageal cancer is  type of cancer where survival rates are low and there is a need for greater research and more widespread knowledge of the link with heartburn so that, in the future, more people are diagnosed earlier and their outcomes are better than my dad's.

My run will not be quick and certainly not pretty, but I know my dad will be with me every step of the way. It would mean a lot to me if you were able to spare a small donation to a very deserving charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
