Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have stupidly signed up to do my first ever marathon on the 4th October. I only recently ran my first half marathon, which nearly broke me, so I am hoping that some training, a bit of weight loss, the buzz of being part of an organised event and maybe some divine intervention, will somehow get over the finish line. 

It will be a year since my mum passed away on the 17th October, so this will be a nice way to honour her memory. 

I will be raising money for the Somersham Ward at Ipswich Hospital, who helped my mum through her breast cancer. The treatment was actually successful, but sadly a blood clot (which we believe was caused by the medication she was on following her treatment) caused her untimely passing. I cannot thank these guys enough and I hope this will be a way to give something back and help others, who are on their own journey with cancer, and to honour mum's memory.
