Story

Our mains power supply was sourced from a ‘loop’ supply that cames from Barkway Sports Pavilion (BSP). This supply was installed when our pavilion was built as the most cost effective method available to the club at the time.

Barkway Parish Council has now begun the process of building a new sports hall on their site and have had to cut off the power in order to begin the construction work. This has left our club without power.

Sadly the Parish Council has also decided that it does not wish to revert to the original agreement regarding the Cricket Club power once the new sports pavilion is completed and so the club will now have to source it's own mains power supply.

The estimates for the cost of this new installation are £6,000 to £7,000 which the committee believe to be a worthwhile expenditure to ensure our own mains supply.

I am asking all parents, friends and members of the club, on a one off basis, to contribute £50 or what they can afford, towards this cost. We have already had one pledge of £1,000 which has really helped to get this appeal moving.

The club thanks you all for your support in the past and we hope that you will be able to assist us with this important project.

Yours

Robert Chambers - Chairman Cokenach Cricket Club
