Pilgrims Hospices is a charity providing palliative care, free of charge, to people in east Kent. For people with a range of life-limiting illnesses, specialist services are provided from our three hospices in Canterbury, Ashford and Thanet, in patients' homes and via community programmes.

Story

Some of you know that my father-in-law Mike was diagnosed with cancer in November 2017 and rapidly needed palliative care. He was admitted to Pilgrims Hospice in Ashford, Kent, UK and received some of the best care imaginable there. The staff went out of their way to make Mike comfortable, treating him with respect and good humour, and likewise treated family and friends who visited him with untold warmth and kindness. Mike improved to such a degree that he was able to make the long journey to New Zealand as he decided he wanted to see out his days in the Southern Hemisphere.  Only 25% of the funding for Pilgrims Hospices comes from the Government, so any donations you make will help this charity to continue their amazing work. I am running the Houston Marathon on Sunday 14th January 2018 and hope to raise some cash for these wonderful people. Thank you all for giving, any amount no matter how small will help.
