TB Alert is the UK’s national tuberculosis charity: the only charity that focuses on TB both in the UK and overseas. This gives us a unique perspective in order to address issues around TB that are common both to low incidence countries like the UK and high incidence regions such as Africa and Asia.

Story

Hi

I am an anaesthetist working at the Heart Hospital, University College London Hospitals that happens to have got into cycling. Last year myself and a group of friends took part in a charity cycle to Paris for which I raised approx £1800. This year I thought I'd try a different part of the European map and a great colleague of mine, Professor Ali Zumla, suggested I try to raise money for TB Alert ,for whom he does agreat deal of work. Considering how this condition continues to plague the world, especially in times of poverty, I thought this a very worthy cause.

Training for this ride has gone reasonably well without much in the way of chafing although the four continuous days in the saddle may test that.
