I've wanted to try an Ironman triathlon ever since I became aware of it.....but to be honest it was just too scary a challenge so I bottled out of applying for years!!  The distances are a bit mind boggling. To finish Ironman Wales you need to swim 2.4 miles in the cool Welsh sea, cycle 112 miles around the Pembrokeshire Countryside  and then run 26.2 miles around the beautiful coastal town of Tenby.

Why am I doing it......

I thought that if I was to participate in an Ironman then I would use it as an opportunity to raise funds for charity. Like you, I know many others who are affected by cancer and I understand the valued support organisations such as Bloodwise and MacMillan provide to patients and their families.  

So...after years of bottling it I've decided 2016 is the year to take on the Ironman challenge before I have a mid life crisis....  I've been successful in gaining a charity entry with the MacMillan Cancer Support team and so far I have raised over £2100 for them.  As Bloodwise have given my cousin and her family such fantastic support during her battle with leuakemia, I'm also looking to raise funds for them as well, now that I've reached my MacMillan target.  

All donations made will go to the charities. I'm covering all travel, accommodation, training and equipment costs so don't worry about your money not getting to the people who need it most.
