Almost 30yrs ago in the Bosnian conflict. I served with approx 350 other young soldiers in 1RGBW. Sadly 4 never returned home, having been tragically killed whilst serving on our tour in 1994. In total 72 British servicemen were killed on operations in Bosnia. (Not a statistic many are aware of) In less than a month I will be running the Unleashed Performance Reading Half Marathon to raise money for a charity GCFBosnia which raises money for the children of Gorazde in the previously war-torn town in Bosnia and seeks to provide a brighter future for its students. There are also plans to establish a museum to recognise the sacrifice and endeavours of the young men and women who came from around the world to serve under the United Nations in 1992-96.
