Bray Cliff Run · 2 April 2016

We are Ireland’s largest human rights organisation. With over 20,000 financial supporters in Ireland, we are part of a global movement to defend the fundamental human rights guaranteed through the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We are politically economically, and religiously independent.

Story

This April, I am running the Bray 10K Cliff run to raise money for Amnesty International's MY BODY MY RIGHTS campaign.

All over the world, from Sierra Leone to right here in Ireland, people are coerced, criminalised and discriminated against, simply for making choices about their bodies and their lives. In the face of these continuing violations, Amnesty International launched MY BODY MY RIGHTS, a global campaign to defend sexual and reproductive rights for all.

In Ireland, our near-total abortion ban criminalises women for seeking the healthcare they need. Ireland only allows women and girls access to abortion if their life is at risk. In all other cases, abortion is a crime punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

About 4, 000 women and girls are forced to leave this country each year to access abortion services in other countries.

Stand in solidarity with these women today and make a donation to show your support. Any amount, small or large, makes a difference, helping Amnesty continue to work towards a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.
