Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When two of my nephews were babies, they both contracted meningitis.  On each occasion the hospital told my Sister and her partner that they had hours to live.  At worst Meningitis can kill within hours and new-born babies are particularly at risk, or it can leave the patient with life changing disabilities.
As a parent I can’t imagine how I would feel if I were given this news about either of my own kids and they were given it for two of theirs.

Fortunately, both survived unscathed, and are now men and living full lives.  I, and members of my family, have signed up to do a 10,000ft tandem parachute jump to raise money for The Believe and Achieve Trust.  The trust strives to improve the physical and mental health of children and young people in Manchester who are facing challenges because of meningitis, disability or their personal situation.  It could so easily have been either one of them that we’re now trying to raise money to help.

Anyway, please donate so we can help those families that are less fortunate than ours.  Every penny raised will go directly to the charity, I’ll be putting my money where my mouth is and paying for my jump personally.

Thanks
