UNICEF works to build a better world for every child, every day. A world where every child has the chance to fulfil their potential and grow up healthy and safe. We work in 190 countries and territories around the world, reaching more children than any other humanitarian organisation.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The on-going conflict in Syria has caused the largest humanitarian crisis in living memory. Every day more than 8 million children face grave threats to their lives because they lack food, water, homes, schools and often parents.
One of our Year 10 students recently suggested we should 'do something'  and fundraise for the charities supporting these children. Since then she has with some friends planned a week of activities to support Unicef and we have been told that the UK government will double all donations made to Unicef's Syria Winter appeal between 29th October 2015 and 29th February 2016.
We are asking students, parents, staff and our wider community to share this site and encourage as much support as possible.

  • Monday 1st Feb - Cake Sale in hall at break and lunchtime. Proceeds to Medecin Sans Frontiers
  • Tuesday 2nd Feb - Recycling Collection Launch - Printer cartridges for Refugee Action  and also a collection of various items for The Harbour Project in Swindon.
  • Wednesday 3rd Feb - Sponsored Event Day including students handing over their mobile phones to us for 24 hours. Proceeds to Unicef
  • Thursday 4th Feb- Lunchtime concert with various bands and singers and a further screening of Wrong Direction's successful hit video. 50p entry - Proceeds to The Harbour Project Swindon
  • Friday 5th Feb - Non uniform Day - £1 per student/staff - Proceeds to Unicef

In particular students who are taking part in the sponsored 'giving up their mobile phone for 24 hours' (locked away in school) or any other sponsored events can use this site to get sponsorship donations from family and friends.

You can also donate by texting the code CWSS99 followed by your amount eg £1 to 70070. Imagine if every student or family of a student and staff member did this how much we'd make?!

PLEASE SHARE THE PAGE AND SUPPORT COMMONWEAL AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THOSE MILLIONS OF REFUGEE CHILDREN
