In August 2017 I will be heading to the capital city of Zambia! 

Why?

Because I have been selected as 1 of 5 Northumbria Students to go to Zambia on a 6 week volunteer experience. The Northumbria University Sport Foundation has had a longstanding relationship with the Lusaka community, delivering coaching roles, but for the first time they have a new position for Sports Management and Leadership, a role that I have been selected for. 

What does this mean?

As this role. I will be working on sport management projects such as facility development, sport leadership training and mentor future trainers to name but a few. However being a new role I'm not sure quite what to expect. Nonetheless I will be bringing the sorts of tools and skills I am currently learning in my masters and using this to have a positive change on the community I will be a part of.

How am I going to do this?

Through the support from you lovely people of course!!

Throughout the year I intend to be part of several fundraising events so stay tuned for updates throughout the year. 

Confirmed though are:

Simplyhealth Great Edinburgh 10 mile Run 2017 taking place
on Sunday 23 April.

3 Peaks challenge - climb 24 miles in 24 hours over the 3 biggest mountains in the UK (Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scarfell Pike) on May Bank Holiday 2017 (Saturday/Sunday 27th and 28th May 2017).

Honestly any donation will have a huge impact on a community that has very little.
