Story
I am raising money in memory of my beautiful little boy Ashton, who sadly closed his eyes for the last time on June 15 2010 aged just 1 year old.
Every 9 days in Scotland a child dies from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), also known as Sudden Unexplained Death in Infancy (SUDI) and most commonly known as Cot Death. The term 'Cot Death' is not as often used today, as a child can sadly pass during any period of sleep anywhere, and due to parents and families worrying about placing their child to sleep in a cot due to the "outdated" name, can place the child elsewhere to sleep, thus placing them in greater danger unintentionally.
The Scottish Cot Death Trust is the ONLY charity dedicated to the issue of cot death/SIDS. I aim to raise as much money as possible to enable The Trust to educate professionals who may have to deal with this at some point in their career, and to educate the public and spread the word on safe sleeping and how we can help prevent SIDS. Also, to do extensive research and to be able to find some answers about this mysterious killer and hopefully help fight Sudden Infant Death Syndrome for good!
The Trust rely almost totally on public donations & support, so please, please, PLEASE help us to raise as much money as possible to help the Scottish Cot Death Trust find out why healthy children across Scotland are dying for no apparent reason. Please help me remember Ashton and make a difference to other families, like mine, who have been totally devastated by the loss of a child to SIDS and rely on the support of the Scottish Cot Death Trust.
