Walk the TestWay 2018 · 14 October 2018 ·

The Club is based in Romsey, Hants. Members provide service for those in need, both locally and internationally, by giving their time, and organising fund raising events.. An Annual Sponsored Walk (Walk the Testway) is held in September, to provide a platform for charitable causes to raise funds.

Story

On October 14th 2018 Jo Hatton and Sue Clayton are undertaking a walk along The Test Way in support of the Charity they work for - The Country Trust - along with their family and some valued Trust volunteers.

Walkers are:

25.5 miles - Jo, Beth and Sam Hatton, Debbie and Lana Holmes

16 miles - Christopher Walker

11 miles - Sue and Maddie Clayton

As a team (including colleagues, children and volunteers walking different distances) we aim to raise £1000.   20% of funds raised goes to Rotary Club Romsey Test and 80% to The Country Trust for specific use in the Hampshire area.

The Country Trust in Hampshire provides free visits to real working  farms and countryside experiences for school children across the Hampshire area.  Children are able to discover where their food comes from and the importance of the working countryside.  We are a small team organising and delivering these special educational opportunities alongside our host farmers and estate owners.  We are walking the Test Way to raise funds for The Country Trust to enable us to ensure that even more children experience, enjoy and understand the importance of rural Hampshire.
