Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have signed up and will attempt to complete the Winchester sprint triathlon on May 1st. A huge incentive for both my training and race day is to know that my efforts are contributing towards kicking the a***hole that is cancer in the backside, as well as helping to support the fantastic work of Friends of Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.
Sadly, I'm sure all of you will know someone who has had the C-Bomb dropped on them at some point in their life, or have had to go through the ordeal yourself. When I broke the news of my brother to some of my closest friends, two of them had family members currently going through similar diagnosis and treatment.
That being said, huge improvements in both the provision of care, research into treatments and our understanding of the bugger (cancer that is, not my bro) have been achieved recently because of these sorts of donations people are willing to make.
So if you think I can do it, or want to set me a time to hit to raise more cash, just let me know! As ever, your support is appreciated in more ways than one so do feel free to come and cheer me on/laugh at my mid-transition, sock applying falling over – I also have a large New Zealand flag ready to be waved by any keen flag bearers amongst you! Plus, it will be May, so hopefully Winchester will be full of sun!
