SimplyHealth Great North Run 2018 · 9 September 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Lived in Newcastle for 5 years and always said I was going to run this and finally this year I got myself into the race for the fun and the atmosphere.
However, recently things have taken a different turn and now I am running for St Oswald’s Hospice.
On Thursday 5th April after a long battle against illness, Sarah’s beloved Grandad and Logan’s Great Grandad Billy passed away.
Billy was a one of a kind and a guy who made a lasting impression on me due to his love of family, life and nature. Sarah and Logan absolutey idolized him and his wish at his funeral was that rather than having flowers sent to the family, he wanted donations to the wonderful staff at the hospice who gave him care for approximately 4 years.
By way of a tribute to this mountain of a man, I want to honor his memory and his wishes by raising money for the staff whose care ensured that my Wife got her Grandad and my Son got his Great Grandad for longer.
Any donation made is going to be greatly appreciated but to add a wee bit of spice, if you donate £20 in a single donation, you can choose a song for my Great North Run playlist.
I have never done a half marathon before and am training like a MOFO for it so please, chuck us a tenner if you can.....
