BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

Honeypot’s vision is for every child to make the most of their one chance at childhood. Since 1996 we have been working to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young carers aged 5-12 years by providing residential respite breaks and on-going outreach support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If you have got to this point then you already know I am running the Great North Run in September.

I am running for the Honey Pot charity - I gave quite a bit of consideration with regard to who I wanted to raise money for - my priority was to raise money for children in some way, then I saw a piece of news on TV regarding child carers, and decided then that this is who I wanted to benefit (albeit it small) from my run.  To make my challenge harder, I am also camping in sunny Newcastle the night before and the night after the run.

My progress so far - not many people have noticed (including the misses), but I spend most of Monday and Tuesday in a bit of pain following an 8 - 10 mile run every Sunday, I am also clocking up a 5/6 mile run on at least one school night per week.  My training started in January, however my first 3/4 runs ended up in minor injury, so I stopped for a bit, then started again around the end of May (when the sun staeted to come out)

I am not expecting anything from anybody, however if you wish to sponsor me then I will be sincerely grateful.  You can sponsor me via this site, or there are some sponsorship forms kicking about.
