Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a group of graduates that are working within Experian to raise money for the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum charity by running, walking and hiking the entire distance from Lands End to John o'Groats (874 miles / 1406.5 km). This 1406.5 km also includes a final group Hike completing the Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge.

Recent global events have highlighted to us the ever growing importance of providing a welcoming space for refugees within our communities. There are currently 84 million people forcibly displaced in the world with 135,912 of them finding themselves in the UK with 83,489 cases pending.

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum are pivotal for helping those refugees find meals, interpretation and support in the city. In 2020 they provided over 9,000 meals, raised close to £20,000 and served nearly 2,000 refugees and this is always growing. In 2020 they recorded 66 different nationalities and opened 10,690 new cases and without their volunteers they would loose out on 760 hours each week.

Please note Experian run a match funding scheme whereby they will match all donations up to a value of £2,000.
