Cress 2013 · 15 November 2013

At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need.

Story

When I started the Cress2013 competition I made it clear that this was not for charity for many reasons, but mainly because no charity would want to be associated with it.

Sometimes events overtake us and what is happening in the Philippines right now is beyond what could have been anticipated. I don't think they'll be too upset at being associated with this if it helps a bit.

Giving to this is not a guarantee of victory, nor is it obligatory to entrants. It's just there if you want to do it and anything you can donate would help save lives. We're having a bit fun (well I'm not - it's a right bloody hassle) so if you can give, do. If you can't or already have, that's fine too. And yes I'm a hypocrite, but the beauty of it being my competition is that I can change the rules.

If you're not taking part and are thorougly sick of cress that's fine too. You can still donate.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
