Trek to Angkor Wat Cambodia · 4 November 2017

Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives. we can’t fly without you!

Story

4 years ago our first trek was the Great Wall, after a year out, the Inca Trail, so to follow our pattern of trekking every two years the time has come, 2017 will be the Cambodia trek to Angkor Wat.

I remember completing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, after the slow pace and effects of high altitude, Jacky and I felt invincible, was it to be Kilimanjaro next?! Well briefly, the thought crossed our minds, then practicality and reality set in and a 95 km trek through the rice–paddies and jungles of Cambodia seemed more realistic. Having said that we are two years older (definitely not wiser, definitely not fitter) but ready for the challenge, which I suspect will not be the ‘walk in the paddy-field park’ we would like to believe!

Once again I will be trying to raise money for the Herts Air Ambulance; any donation great or small is appreciated.
