Story
Bereavement affects everyone at some time in their lives. Everyone experiences grief differently; there is no "normal" or "right" way to grieve. Sometimes bereaved people find it difficult to cope and find that they need more than the support of family, friends and colleagues.
Cruse Bereavement Care in Cornwall has been here to help and provide free and confidential support to those in need since 1982.
As well as providing one to one support, we provide telephone support, a helpline, monthly Friendship groups, information and training.
Our service last year cost £62,000. We received over 650 referrals and enquiries. Our Volunteers travelled over 43,000 miles and gave over 10,000 Volunteering Hours.
To continue to be "Somewhere to turn when someone dies" in 2017 we need to raise £30,000.
To give an idea of how any donation you make will be used, here are some examples:
- £6 will pay for the cost of answering a Helpline call from a bereaved person
- £12 could provide helpful information leaflets to 5 bereaved people
-£27 will pay for a one to one support session with a trained Bereavement Volunteer
-£100 is the average cost of supporting a Bereaved person in Cornwall.
Please help Cruse Bereavement Care in Cornwall to continue supporting Bereaved people in Cornwall in 2017 and beyond. Every little really does help.
Thank you for considering our appeal.
