At Cubitt Town Junior School we want to help Rainforest
Concern in their mission to protect rainforests across the world. We are
planning to have a fundraising day on May 24^th to raise money for the cause. This will involve a ‘torture the teacher’ event, where teachers have volunteered to endure funny and embarrassing torture.

I believe that all our natural habitats must be preserved and in some cases regenerated, particularly rainforests, as they are some of
the richest ecosystems on the planet.  Because I feel so strongly about this, I am volunteering to have my beard cut by the children who are willing to make a donation towards saving the rainforests.

This will be fairly traumatic as deforestation is, because I have not shaved my beard since 2013 and it has been growing untouched since February! Indeed, none of my colleagues have seen me without a beard!
