High School For Kibera is a charity set up by a group of football fans to raise the funds to build a secondary school in Kibera in Nairobi, Kenya which will be accessible to the poor and less fortunate children of the Kibera slum. Secondary education is supposed to be free in Kenya but unfortunately schools charge fees for all pupils making education beyond the reach of the poor. This facility will be available not only to sponsored children, but more importantly to those who are less fortunate and aren't sponsored. Without sponsorship, or this new school, the education for most will finish at the end of primary school. Giving them this opportunity of a secondary education will increase their chances of escaping the poverty trap, giving them hope for the future.
